Description
The mouse monoclonal antibody clone DX11 binds to human CD226, also known as DNAM-1. CD226 is a 65 kDa type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein expressed predominantly on T cells, NK cells, monocytes, platelets, and a subset of B cells, but not on erythrocytes. It is also found on a fraction of thymocytes that coexpress high-density surface CD3. CD226 is absent in normal fibroblast cell lines as well as in tumor cell lines derived from epithelial or neural sources. CD226 is a tyrosine-phosphorylated signaling molecule involved in initial adhesion during cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) or natural killer (NK) cell-mediated cytotoxicity.
