Description
The mouse monoclonal antibody clone W6/32 binds to an antigenic determinant shared among HLA-A, HLA-B, and HLA-C human major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I antigens. MHC class I antigens associated with beta2-microglobulin are expressed by all human nucleated cells and are essential for cell-mediated immune responses and tumor surveillance. W6/32 recognizes a conformational epitope, reacting with HLA class I alpha3 and alpha2 domains among products of the HLA-A, B, and C loci. It immunoprecipitates both 43 kDa and 11-12 kDa chains. The W6/32 antibody can be used to detect and quantify the presence of human Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) Class I antigens, specifically HLA-A, HLA-B, and HLA-C, on human cells.
