Description
The mouse monoclonal antibody clone HM47 binds to human CD79a, an intracellular component of the B-cell receptor (BCR) complex. CD79a (also known as mb-1 or Igα) is a 47 kDa type I transmembrane signaling molecule expressed in the cytoplasm and membrane of B-lineage cells from the earliest recognizable B-cell precursors through mature B cells, and is retained in most B-cell neoplasms. CD79a forms a heterodimer with CD79b to mediate surface immunoglobulin (sIg) transport and signal transduction via ITAM-dependent pathways. Clone HM47 recognizes an intracellular epitope of CD79a and is suitable for flow cytometry following appropriate fixation/permeabilization.
