Description
The mouse monoclonal antibody clone IT2.2 binds to human CD86 (B7-2), a costimulatory ligand expressed primarily on antigen-presenting cells including monocytes, dendritic cells, activated B cells, and select subsets of T cells. CD86 is a 70–80 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein involved in T-cell activation through engagement of CD28 and CTLA-4. Its expression is dynamically upregulated upon immune activation, making it a key marker for assessing antigen-presenting cell maturation and costimulatory capacity. Clone IT2.2 recognizes an extracellular epitope of CD86 and is validated for flow cytometry to assess activation status in immune monitoring, immuno-oncology, and dendritic-cell assays.
