Description
The mouse monoclonal antibody clone 3B2/TA8 binds to human CD99, also known as E2 antigen and MIC2. CD99 is an approximately 32 kDa sialoglycoprotein and is expressed by all leukocytes. CD99 is involved in T cell adhesion and activation. CD99 is highly expressed on thymocytes, T cells, and T cell leukemias and lymphomas and is absent on some B cell lines, fetal B cells, eosinophils, and granulocytes. CD99 is involved in spontaneous erythrocyte rosette formation and may be involved in other T cell and hematopoietic cell adhesion pathways.
