The mouse monoclonal antibody clone UCHL1 binds to the human CD45 isoform known as CD45RO, a 220 kDa protein tyrosine phosphatase. CD45 is one of the most abundant hematopoietic markers expressed on all leukocytes (leukocyte common antigen, LCA). Various isoforms are generated and expressed in cell-specific patterns. With their broad cell distribution, CD45 isoforms are critical for many leukocyte functions by regulating signal transduction and cell activation associated with the T cell receptor, B cell receptor, and IL-2 receptor. Other forms of CD45, with restricted cellular expression, include CD45R (B220), CD45RA, CD45RB, and others. The UCHL1 antibody can be used to identify and quantify human CD45RO expression on thymocytes, activated memory T cells, monocytes, macrophages, and granulocytes.

RECOMMENDED USAGE

Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested using flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is 5 μL per 1 million cells in a staining volume of 100 μL. If whole blood is analyzed, then use 5 μL per 100 μL. It is recommended that users titrate the antibody to obtain the optimal result for their specific application.
