Description

HNK-1 monoclonal antibody binds to human CD57, a 100-115 kDa oligosaccharide antigen expressed by several cell lineages1. CD57, also known as HNK-1, NK-1, Leu-7 and L2, is present on peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets, including CD8 T cells and NK cells, neural and striated muscle cells2,3. CD57 antigens are not expressed on erythrocytes, platelets, granulocytes, and monocytes4. While the function of CD57 is not well known, studies have shown that it may play a role in neural adhesion and cell-matrix interactions5. The antibody was conjugated to a fluorophore and purified by affinity chromatography.

RECOMMENDED USAGE

Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested using flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is 5 µL per 1 million cells in a staining volume of 100 µL. If whole blood is analyzed, then use 5 µL per 100 µL. It is recommended that users titrate the antibody to obtain the optimal result for their specific application.
