The mouse monoclonal antibody clone MEM-18 binds to human CD14, a 53-55-kDa glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-linked membrane glycoprotein that works as a receptor on myeloid cells for ligands such as lipopolysaccharide (LPS). CD14 binds to complexes of LPS and lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP) with high affinity. It is expressed on monocytes and macrophages at high levels. It is also present in some interfollicular dendritic cells, macrophages, reticular dendritic cells, and Langerhans cells.

ELISA: The antibody MEM-18 has been tested as the detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA for analysis of human CD14 in combination with antibody B-A8 (cat. no. 11-304-C100).
