The rat monoclonal antibody clone MWReg30 binds to the mouse CD41 antigen (also known as the mouse integrin α2b and GPIIb). CD41 is a 125 kDa single-pass type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein that is expressed by platelets, megakaryocytes, mast cells, and hematopoietic progenitors. It forms a heterodimer with CD61 (integrin β3), which interacts with several ligands including, fibrinogen, fibronectin, von Willebrand factor, and thrombin. CD41 is involved in the processes of coagulation and aggregation, and defects in CD41 can lead to coagulation disorder.
