説明
The mouse monoclonal antibody clone HB7 binds to human CD38, a 45 kDa type II transmembrane glycoprotein. CD38, also known as T10, is expressed in thymocytes, plasma cells, monocytes, and other non-hematopoietic cells. T and B lymphocyte expression is discontinuous and varies based on differentiation state. It is present on immature cells, low on intermediate stages, and high on activated mature cells. It is found on most CD34+ cells but not on pluripotent stem cells. CD38 serves dual functions as a receptor and an ectoenzyme. As a receptor, CD38 binds to CD31. As an ectoenzyme, CD38 functions both as ADP-ribosyl cyclase and cyclic ADP-ribose hydrolase to catalyze the synthesis of cyclic ADP-ribose to regulate intracellular calcium level, thus playing an essential role in cell signaling and growth. CD38 is an ectoenzyme that catalyzes the synthesis and hydrolysis of cyclic ADP-ribose and is involved in cell signaling, regulating cell adhesion, and activation. CD38 is a prognostic marker for some leukemias and other diseases. Additionally, it serves as a marker for activated B and T cells in research applications.
