The mouse monoclonal antibody clone BC96 binds to human CD25 (IL-2 receptor alpha, IL-2Rα) is a 55 kDa surface protein that serves as the low-affinity receptor for interleukin-2 (IL-2). While CD25 can bind IL-2 alone without inducing signaling, it is primarily found as part of the high-affinity IL-2 receptor complex, along with CD122 (IL-2 receptor beta) and CD132 (common gamma chain). CD25 is expressed during T and B cell development, on activated T and B cells, macrophages, and at high levels on natural regulatory T cells (Tregs) in the thymus and periphery, as well as on induced peripheral Tregs. IL-2 receptor signaling is involved in lymphocyte proliferation, survival, and differentiation, influencing Th17 and Treg cell function. CD25 also plays a role in dendritic cell activity and is a marker for Hodgkin’s disease and autoimmune conditions such as Type I diabetes.

RECOMMENDED USAGE
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested using flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is 5 μL per 1 million cells in a staining volume of 100 μL. If whole blood is analyzed, then use 5 μL per 100 μL. It is recommended that users titrate the antibody to obtain the optimal result for their specific application.
