Pluripotent stromal cells can give rise to several lineages: osteoblasts and chondrocytes, which form bone, adipocytes or hematopoietic cells. STRO-1+ cells when co-transplanted with hematopoietic stem cells have been shown to reduce the occurrence of graft versus host disease. In addition, in vitro cultures of Stro-1+ cells along with CD34+ cells give rise to CFUs (colony forming units) composed of hematopoietic precursors, establishing a supporting role of these mesenchymal cells in blood cell development.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe STRO-1 antibody has been reported to recognize both bovine and rat Stro-1 protein.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eApplications Reported:  This STRO-1 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis, immunocytochemistry, and immunohistochemical staining of frozen tissue sections.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eApplications Tested: This STRO-1 antibody has been tested by immunocytochemistry on methanol-fixed MG-63 cells and can be used at less than or equal to 20 µg\/mL.
