CD25 is expressed during T and B cell development, on activated T and B cells, macrophages, and at high levels on natural regulatory T cells (Tregs) in the thymus and periphery, as well as on induced peripheral Tregs. IL-2 receptor signaling is involved in lymphocyte proliferation, survival, and differentiation, influencing Th17 and Treg cell function.
