This 150-kDa cell surface protein is expressed by thymocytes, peripheral lymphocytes, monocytes, and eosinophils in complex with either integrin beta1 or integrin beta7. Outside of the immune system, CD49d is also expressed on mast cells, neural crest cells, retinal cells, and dorsal root ganglion neurons. Integrins are responsible for lymphocyte homing to Peyer's patches and mesenteric lymph nodes, as well as neural development and regeneration. Several ligands have been reported for the integrin a4b1 complex, including VCAM-1 (CD106) and fibronectin.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe MRa1-4 antibody has been reported to inhibit fibronectin binding and lymphocyte migration.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eApplications Reported:  This MRa4-1 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eApplications Tested: This MRa4-1 antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of rat splenocytes.
