This type I transmembrane glycoprotein is expressed on trophoblast (syncytiotrophoblast and cytotrophoblast), epithelial, and most human carcinoma cells. Trop-2 plays a role in calcium-mediated signaling. Trop-2 has also been reported as an oncogene, with expression being correlated with tumorigenesis, metastasis, and anchorage-independent growth.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eApplications Reported:  This MR54 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis, immunoprecipitation, western blotting, immunohistochemical staining of formalin-fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissue sections (IHC-P), ELISA, and immunocytochemistry (ICC).\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eApplications Tested: This MR54 antibody has been tested by flow cytometry and immunocytochemistry on MCF7 cells as well as by immunohistochemistry of formalin-fixed paraffin embedded tissue using either low or high pH antigen retrieval methods. Use of high pH antigen retrieval results in better staining intensity. This can be used at less than of equal to 5 µg\/mL.
