The expression of CD5 by a small subset of B cells characterizes a developmentally and functionally distinct lineage of B cells called B-1 cells. CD5 is a counter-receptor for CD72 and plays a role in the T-B cell interaction.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eApplications Tested: This 53-7.3 antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. This can be used at less than or equal to 0.125 µg per test. A test is defined as the amount (µg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells\/test.
