Description

The 3B2/TA8 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD99, also known as E2 antigen and MIC2. CD99 is an approximately 32 kDa sialoglycoprotein and is expressed by all leukocytes. CD99 is involved in T cell adhesion and activation. CD99 is highly expressed on thymocytes, T cells, and T cell leukemias and lymphomas, and absent on some B cell lines, fetal B cells, eosinophils, and granulocytes. CD99 is involved in spontaneous erythrocyte rosette formation may be involved in other T-cell and hematopoietic cell adhesion pathways.
